On a brisk Beijing winter afternoon, two teams with very different agendas met in the late kick off at Dulwich. Sexy FC still have title ambitions and are looking to cement their progress with a top 3 finish with Russia united fighting to stay in the division after experiencing a real baptism of fire since their promotion to the premier division.
The game started brightly with Sexy implementing their dominance early with some very neat football straight off the training ground had Russia pinned in their own half. A move starting from the Sexy GK was moved from left to the right, with Luke Wilson supplying Jeremy Chiron in midfield, his run and slotted pass found Tim Torpchin on the edge of the box in space and he dispatched with real style into the bottom left hand corner to make it 1 – 0 Sexy.
Sexy were in ruthless mood and when another flowing move saw Jeremy Chiron hit the bar with a fierce drive, there was Deo to head in the rebound with some real bravery to make it 2 – 0 to the men in pink. The football was a real joy to watch with Sexy passing it around like Brazil, again the ball was played out of the Sexy defence into midfield, the ball found Tim Toropchin on the left and his through ball put Urias Kamah on his way, the speed king clean through on goal made no mistake with a lovely finish that hit the inside of the far post on its way in.
Solid half from the men in pink saw them head into the break with a healthy 3 – 0 lead much to the delight of the large travelling alcohol fuelled support.
HT Score: Sexy FC 3 – 0 Russia United
After a good first half, the message at half time was one of maintaining the levels of performance and closing out the game, something Sexy are becoming good at. The second half was almost a carbon copy of the first with Sexy having almost 85% of possession and using it to great effect, Sexy attacked in waves with the pace of Tim, Jeremy, Deo, Urias, Jim Mao and Lu Ju simply too much for the Russia defence, but for some good goalkeeping and lady luck the game could have been out of site by the 60 minute mark.
There was a penalty given in the 70th minute when the Russian defender mis-timed his challenge on Deo , the ref had no choice but to point to the spot. There were plenty of volunteers to take the spot kick, but Lu Ju stepped up, but the penalty was weak and allowed the keeper to get a good strong hand on the ball low down to the his right, he then gathered the rebound much to the disappointment of the Sexy crowd who made their thoughts known with some howls of disapointment.
The fourth goal did finally come around 75 mins and it was no surprise to anyone that it was Jeremy Chiron finding the net after a good one-two on the edge of the box with Urias, he was allow to carry the ball into the area and slot past the keeper to ensure the 3 points were heading back to Sanlitun.
There were no further goals, but with the Sexy defence totally dominating everything it was more than enough, the team professionally kept possession to tick down the game clock. This was a very accomplished performance from the pink and black army and means they secured 2 wins in a row for the first time this season.
